Great post! I had similar experience in the past, but still struggle when the push is from external/clients which we have very little to no power to negotiate the deadline.

I am curious, what is the result or consequences of this story? Seems like this story is kind of incomplete. Did your decisions or shortcuts cause any issues? Did you use this project accomplishment within timely fashion to promote?

We shipped the feature at the end of the sprint. However, 2 months later when other people started building on top it, they found it too rigid to make changes, testing was hard, and issues like that. I had moved on to my main project so wasn't actively working on the aforementioned feature.

When I got a bunch of questions about design quirkiness from the new owners I sensed frustration, and I got defensive. However, at the back of my mind I realized I was wrong and needed to fix my approach going forward.
