Great thoughts on ownership. I think the big picture advice is very relevant because one can easily forget about it when very consumed in tasks or projects. I think this trait is what differenciate seniority levels.
Pending to check the recording. Thanks for writing it, Raviraj! Otherwise I would have missed it!
A big problem for me is getting so focused on the day-to-day of the team that I lose the big picture. Too focused on one delivery after another so that I don't step back and see what bottlenecks I can improve.
I think the more tired and closer to burnout someone gets, the lower their curiosity is
Yea having that picture makes a big difference. Though if you are closer to burnout then handle it first. Find what gives you joy and look for accomplishments that makes you feel good.
Coool 😎
Yes! Owning my own growth has been a huge part of my success as a senior+ engineer and tech lead.
It gives you opportunities you’d otherwise never have and really unlocks that next phase of growth.
Thanks for sharing Raviraj!
Glad that the idea resonated with you, Caleb.

Yep, in my case I already took my action of switching teams internally starting in January.
I like the idea of being back in a new place where everything is new learnings.
Leaving a previous team helps me on focusing in the good things of the past year because I know I won't come back to the bad parts in the next year :)
Thanks for this write up my friend, the event was a blast! 🚀🚀🚀🚀
